When you can't make any more words, you are given a score:
WORD COUNT + LONGEST LENGTH + AVERAGE LENGTH - LETTERS LEFT OVER
You can compare your score with par and global best scores, and share it with others.
Tips and Hints
Words can be 2-15 letters long.
You can repeat words.
The Confirm button will only appear when you've made a valid word.
You can type with your keyboard. Backspace deletes a letter.
Enter confirms. Escape cancels. Space
The letter grid is the same for everyone, every day.
It's always possible to use all the letters.
The par score is based on the words used to build the grid of letters.
The best score is based on all standard games played today by anyone.
There's no guarantee that ★★★ is achievable every day.

Reset to defaults
Gramble was built by Andy Harsent in January 2022.
The name comes from a combination of the scramble
d letters and the aim to use all the letters
as with an anagram
. It's also been said you ramble
around the grid trying to work out
which letters from the alphabet are actually there.
It's always possible to use all the letters because each grid is not random; it is created from the list
of words behind the scenes. You can find out what score you'd get with these words by looking at the grid score
(or par) at the bottom of the Stats page or the par when you finish a game.
